Re Vision
Švehla, Jakub ; Šrámek, Jan (referee) ; Kögler, Žaneta (advisor)
In form of 3D animation the thesis depicts the steps of mankind towards the expansion of civilization beyond planet Earth. Chronologically it exposes essential moments of technological development (in major) preceding the journey for the distant planets. Images of today's state of civilization are combined with constructions of former theoretical concepts and with fully fictitious elements to form visuals illustrating the roadmap to extraterrestrial expansion.

Development of problems in contemporary cities in South America * City of La Paz
Influence of early antibiotic treatment on lower airway microbial colonisation in patients receiving mechanical ventilation
Kroupová, Alžběta ; Duška, František (advisor) ; Kukol, Václav (referee)
AJ Introduction: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a significant source of morbidity and mortality among patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Its development is preceded by colonization of the lower respiratory tract with pathogenic bacteria. The purpose of this study was to investigate how antibiotic therapy administered for non-pulmonary infections affects the colonization of the lower respiratory tract compared to patients not receiving antibiotics. The hypothesis is that antibiotic treatment reduces colonization of the lower respiratory tract but increases the occurrence of multidrug-resistant bacteria. Methods: This was a retrospective observational cohort study conducted on critically ill patients hospitalized at the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and University Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady. This study is part of an ongoing project aimed at improving the quality of care and preventing VAP in intensive care unit patients. Patients had to meet certain criteria: they had to be on mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours, have no pre-existing pulmonary diseases upon hospital admission, and not be immunocompromised. The primary outcome was the difference in the proportion of patients with positive microbiological...

PTÁK, Martin
This work analyzes medieval (10th -13th century) colonization in south-west Bohemia. It is focused on the Kolinec district, which has not been properly explored so far. The description of settlement development in explored district is based on written documents, geographical data; toponymy and most importantly on archeological sources. This work represents results of author{\crq}s research and results of new archeological surveys of Dr. Hostaš museum Klatovy. Appendices: Maps, catalogue , layouts and photographical documentation of immovable archeological monuments, drawings and photography of finds, etc.
Dynamic of the plant establishment in the experimental seeding into the grasslands restored on the former arable land
Šťástková, Eva ; Mudrák, Ondřej (advisor) ; Konečná, Marie (referee)
Grasslands of White Carpathians belong to the most diverse grasslands of the world, but despite this their large area was plowed in the past. During the last two decades one of the biggest ecological restoration projects in the Central Europe is there ongoing, which aims to restore arable fields back into species rich grasslands. As even a relatively species rich regional seed mixture cannot include the original grassland diversity, grasslands are dependent on spontaneous colonization species after initial sowing. Species, however, face the considerably altered environment, different to preserved reference grasslands. The question is, to what extent can be the colonization of grasslands successful. Eventually, if it is possible to sow them into species poor restored grassland and enforce the formation of a more diverse grassland community. This bachelor thesis experimentally compared establishment (number of individuals during the growing season 2021) of 10 grassland species in sowings on three restored grasslands (old 20 years since restoration) and on three reference grasslands, which were in their proximity and served as reference ecosystem. Sowing was conducted in autumn 2020 into the disturbed and undisturbed microsites 20 × 20 cm. All species successfully established at least in some number...
Francophonie in Africa and its importance in French classes
Horáčková, Eliška ; Klinka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Biegel, Madeleine (referee)
The bachelor thesis primarily deals with the process of colonization and decolonization of the Maghreb countries, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. It also presents the general reasons leading France to colonize other territories and briefly describes how the settlement of the African continent took place. The work further outlines the main problems that have resulted from the colonization and that Africa is dealing with today, but it also addresses the benefits that brought the French presence in Africa. The work also briefly discusses the form of compensations that France provides to the now independent states. At the end of the thesis, there is an overview of the teaching materials available on the Internet devoted to the topic of colonization of the Maghreb countries. The number of materials is assessed by the author of the work as insufficient. The main goal and contribution of the work is the collection of all essential information about the colonization of countries in North Africa. The work therefore serves as a good starting material for teachers who are interested in the political development of the African continent and who would like to lead their students to intercultural education in French language classes. Cathegorization of small ponds in the PLA Broumovsko
Mňuková, Veronika ; Tátosová, Jolana (advisor) ; Černý, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis is about small artificial ponds and their value in landscape. It characterizes their basic features, colonization rate, role the play in maintaining biodiversity and their significance for nature conservation. In the practical part of my thesis, I am focusing on small ponds in CHKO Broumovsko and analyzing them in context with their possible colonization. The main aspects that I take into consideration, are their spatial distribution, age, biotopes in which they are situated, their relation to streams and terrain in their surroundings. The result of my work is cathegorization of the ponds, which reflects these characteristics and defines groups of potentially similar and different ponds. Hypothesis that emerged from this cathegorization will be further used in biodiversity research within my subsequent master thesis. Key words: small ponds, biodiversity, colonization, mapping, cathegorization
Selected aspects of US foreign policy during period of decolonization
Urbánek, Daniel ; Romancov, Michael (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on position of the United States of America towards the process of decolonization and its purpose is to identify if American steps in this context were guided by idealistic or realistic motives. After a short definition of these two paradigms and description of the mechanism of American foreign policy the thesis introduces traditions affecting that policy, mostly focusing on the tradition of isolationism. Main part of the thesis is divided into two segments - in the first one, four political programs concerning the United States are analyzed, sources being the Monroe Doctrine, the Fourteen Points of President Wilson, the Atlantic Charter and the UN Charter. In this part, contribution of these programs to the process of decolonization is emphasized together with the identification of idealistic or realistic characteristics. The second segment offers a case study focused on the Suez Crisis - the moment, when the United States practically intervened against European colonial powers. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
